Volvo buses between Khammam and Bengaluru soon
The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC), Khammam region, is planning to introduce Volvo multi-axle air-conditioned buses between Khammam and Bengaluru in Karnataka in a couple of days.
Two state-of-the-art Volvo multi-axle AC buses have already arrived here. The two new buses will be inducted into the existing fleet of the TSRTC’s Khammam region in the next few days, sources said.
The TSRTC’s move is aimed at augmenting its services on Khammam-Hyderabad-Bengaluru route, considered a potential route.
A plan is on the anvil to replace the existing “Indra” AC bus being operated on the Khammam-Bengaluru route with a new state-of-the-art AC bus christened “Rajadhani” within a fortnight, sources added.
The new buses are equipped with all modern features to ensure comfortable and safe journey of passengers, said B. Rama Murthy, deputy chief traffic manager, TSRTC, Khammam region.
Speaking to The Hindu , he said the buses will be pressed into service on Khammam-Bengaluru route soon after obtaining inter-State permits in a couple of days.
