Commotion prevailed at Kokkireni village in Tirumalayapalem mandal on Monday afternoon when a farmer allegedly climbed an electricity pole as a mark of protest against survey of his agricultural land for construction of a canal under SRSP Stage-II Project.
According to sources, Jepangi Chinni, a farmer of Kokkireni, allegedly tried to prevent the field staff of the executing agencies from conducting a survey of his agriculture land. He expressed resentment over the alleged injustice meted out to him in award of compensation.
